Reinventing our world through stories

I write speculative thrillers that explore power, technology, humanity, and the choices that shape our future.

Iwrite stories to make sense of the world.

Not as it’s presented, but as it is – complex, messy, and moving faster than most of us are prepared for.

I’ve spent years working in law and technology, watching systems evolve, collide, and quietly reshape how we live. I’ve always been drawn to how things work. Pulling them apart, questioning them, rebuilding them in my head. That part never switches off.

But becoming a father changed the lens.

Because it’s one thing to be fascinated by technology, what it can do, how far it can go. It’s another to look at your children and wonder what kind of world we’re building for them. Whether we’re asking the right questions. Whether we’re moving too fast. Whether anyone is really in control.

That tension sits at the heart of everything I write.

I’m not interested in preaching or politics. The world has enough noise. What interests me is what actually works. What matters. What happens when real people are forced to make difficult decisions in systems that don’t have easy answers.

My characters aren’t heroes. They’re human. Flawed. Driven. Sometimes wrong. Often conflicted.

Much like the world they inhabit.

And much like me.

Outside of the noise, I’m drawn to quieter things. Open landscapes. The simplicity of nature. The kind of perspective you only get when you step away and realise how small, and how connected, everything really is.

The Race Is On series grew out of all of this. A need to explore where we’re heading, without pretending the answers are simple. To take the questions that don’t leave me alone and push them to their limits.

I write for those who feel that same pull.

The ones who question. Who notice. Who don’t quite accept things at face value.

To pause and think of the future we’re building, whether we understand it or not.

It’s who gets to use it and what they tell themselves while doing it.”
