Book 4 in a great series This is Book 4 of The Race Is On series. Like its predecessors it was jam packed with action.We see previous characters back again and meet new ones too, and again get to travel the world. Leap is still causing issues because of some abusing it's true use.Uma had changed in this book but that's understandable considering all she's been through. She's still dealing with the loss of Ethan, then issues concerning her children which is yet another thing on top of all her problems.The storyline flowed well and I read this book faster than the others. The ending now has me anticipating the next book.A great gripping sci-fi thriller This is the fourth book in the sci-if thriller Race Is On series and is just as brutal and gripping as the first three books. Following on from book 3 and in the same format of short chapters, dual perspectives, from various locations of the globe this is another amazing fast paced and tense read. I would recommend reading the books in order as they explain everything that has happened prior and leading up to the events in this book.A few years on and LEAP technology has developed even further, this book focuses on its capability to create ‘masqs’ - enabling the user to look like anyone they want. This obviously gets majorly abused and once again puts Uma in danger. And, as Uma tries to save the planet from plastic pollution, can she save herself from unknown enemies who are out to ruin LEAP and destroy her? I couldn’t put this book down, and wow that ending - I’m really looking forward to book 5!Verified
Godwin's Revenge - A brilliant read and a good addition to the series Here is my review for Godwin’s Revenge by O C HeatonThis is book four of The Race Is On series and it’s a brilliant story which I really loved reading. The story starts in July 2014, Uma Jakobsdottir still lives in Iceland with her children when she hears about some killings in Riyadh that totals 30 bodies. It reminds her of Ethan. She hardly leaves home nowadays but when she discovers traces of plastic toxins in her children’s bloodstreams, her pursuit of environmental matters returns with a vengeance. The story was superbly written and extremely well plotted. It was well thought out and each chapter details time, place and date. The characters are well thought out and some are from previous books, like Uma Jakobsdottir and Ethan. The chapters are generally short and quick to read. I liked the author’s writing style and it was easy to read. The story was very detailed with great descriptive text. It was a great addition to the series and I look forward to reading whatever the author has planned for his next book.Blurb :Old faces. New masks.July 2014. This is the 4th book in The Race Is On series. The series follows Uma as she releases the LEAP technology across the world. This allows people to transport instantly to anywhere in the world, but brings with a whole host of ethical issues and people willing to fight and die for their belief in their rights.Book 4 is the best one of the series so far. It follows Uma as she tries to recover from her personal losses of the previous books and raise her children in the world she has helped shape. It covers modern, tough , ecological topics of the rise of micro-plastics invading our systems. The book does not preach a one-sided argument, but shows the determination of Uma’s ecological fight and the lengths she, and her opponents, will go to reach their goals.I really enjoyed this one and would recommend it to people who like a different style of thriller. Be aware, there are a lot of trigger warnings given in the books, but I really enjoyed it. It is helpful to read them in order so you can follow along with the characters and understand their nuances. The first is called Leap.Incredible Book! This is Book 4 of The Race Is On Series, and I was so excited to get started on the next book in this series.The one thing I can say about this series is that as each book is released, it gets faster and even more gripping!Uma and other familiar faces return, and this time, LEAP has been available to the General Public for a while, and most are loving the ability to basically cross continents without issues... of course, there is a darker side to success.Godwin's Revenge is definitely darker to the previous 3 (even more so than ATOM INC) and explores brand new moral and ethical dilemmas that come with LEAP and the new tech being developed as a result.Uma is fabulous, as always, and is a woman driven by science but has a solid moral and ethical foundation, which of course ruffles the feathers of the wrong people.We are introduced to various new characters, and we have multi POVs, which allows us to see the world from the eyes of all the big players in this book.Utterly gripping and deeply philosophical, once again, OC Heaton has crafted a brilliant book that leaves you on the edge of your seat.I can't wait for Book 5 to be released to see what happens next in this incredible series!
